Last week we learn about Scanning. Miss Novy explained to
us about scanning material virtually through Microsoft Teams and also gave us
exercises on the Syam-Ok website, there was also an explanation of what
scanning is.
So what is scanning? Scanning is reading a text quickly in
order to find specific information. On the Syam-Ok website, there is explained
that scanning is a very high-speed reading. When scanning, you have a question
in mind. You do not read every word, only the words that answer your question.
Practice in scanning will help us learn to skip over unimportant words so that
we can read faster.
So on the exercises that were given by our lecturer, there are some quizzes that's we'll practice scanning many different
kinds of materials. Such as newspaper ads, a supermarket ad, table of anatomic
weights, TV listings, paperback, magazine articles, encyclopedia entries, and a
newspaper article. Those exercises are really helpful for me. That’s all for
